About us

The research in the Laboratory of Plant Molecular Genetics is focused on genomic study based on the new generation sequencing and the first clover draft genome sequence was obtained and published for cultivated red clover (Trifolium pratense). Genomic resources are combined with molecular cytogenetics to understand karyotype diversity within Trifolium genus, cytogenetic and chromosomal markers (namely oligo-FISH painting) are designed to detect chromosomal aberrations during clover evolution. Applied research was focused on successful identification of allelic variants for candidate

We provide basic lectures (Genetics II; Plant Genetics; Applied Genetics and Plant Breeding) and practical courses (Basic Genetics - practice; Plant Genetics practice) for students in bachelor and magister programmes. In our Laboratory, we offer Ph.D. study program Molecular and Cell Biology and Genetics with specialization in plants. Postgraduate and undergraduate students are involved into solved research activities.
