Open Day of the Faculty of Science took place on Saturday 21 January and Tuesday 24 January, both in the areas on Kotlářská Street and on the University campus in Bohunice. Lectures, stands and excursions to the workplace were prepared for the applicants.
Two undergraduate programmes were presented within our section. The guarantor of the professionally oriented programme Medical Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics is Assoc. prof. Kuglík, the guarantor of the academically oriented programme Experimental and Molecular Biology is prof. Veselská. Both guarantors presented the programmes in the form of lectures, especially in the morning blocks the lecture rooms were filled to the last seats. On Saturday, an estimated 420 applicants came to the campus, and on Tuesday another 195. Moreover, young students were often accompanied by their parents.
The latter programme is divided into specialisations from the first year onwards, which applicants choose in their applications. Therefore, stands for all six specialisations were set up in the campus corridor so that applicants could get a better idea of which topics are covered. For our department, the specializations Human Biology, Cell Biology and Molecular Biology and Genetics were presented.
