Section of Genetics and Molecular Biology

The Section of Genetics and Molecular Biology is a part of the Department of Experimental Biology at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. It follows the legacy of the founder of genetics, Gregor Mendel, who postulated the basic principles of genetics here in Brno.

About us

The Section of Genetics and Molecular Biology consists of six laboratories whose research spans various areas of genetics and molecular biology.

We provide teaching at the bachelor's (Medical Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics, Experimental and Molecular Biology), follow up master's (Bioanalytical Laboratory Diagnostics in Healthcare - Medical Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Human Biology, Cell Biology) and doctoral (Molecular and Cellular Biology and Genetics) degree.
