A set of markers in genes effective for higher nitrogen fixing in red clover
Functional sample is technically realized result connected to the development of the test set of 7 genetic markers in Trifolium pratense L. (red clover) genes conferring effective nitrogen fixation. Markers are based on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in genes participating in the process of nodulation and nitrogen fixation. The marker set is intended for red clover breeding.
A test set for population microarray preparation for effective genotyping and red clover selection
The technically realized result is connected to the development of the population microarray for chosen marker set genotyping and selection in red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) using targeted probes for the detection of allelic variants of genes associated with higher nitrogen fixation. This probe set is utilizable mainly for testing of the large population (hundreds up to tens of thousands specimens).

Genotypes of plants with higher level of fixation of atmospheric nitrogen
Samples in the form of red clover seeds with a defined level of biological fixation of atmospheric nitrogen, verified by subsequent measurement of selected offspring. These plant seeds will serve as input genetic material for further plant breeding using knowledge about their properties.

Functional sample of a population chip
The SNP chip is designed for the determination of genotypes for the selection of red clover with a higher level of fixation of atmospheric nitrogen. The advantage of the technical solution is mainly in its high capacity with use for the entire population. The usability will be realized mainly in breeding in agriculture.

Test bed of specific markers in set of clover signs for evaluating hybrid character Trifolium pratense x T. medium for breeder’s purposes
In the present invention, there are disclosed 795 novel SNP markers defined based on proper sequencing of the next generation of two parental genotypes T. pratense cultivar Tatra and T. medium, which have been a starting material for obtaining hybrid population. SNP markers are distributed all over the clover entire genome.

Identification of gene specific microsatellite markers in red clover
Cert., accred., approved methodologyMethod and procedure concern set of microsatellite markers in specific genes of Trifolium pratense (red clover) based on our own next generation sequencing. The set includes species specific SSR markers in coding sequences (exons) for desaturases, polyphenol oxidases and nodulins participating in biosynthesis of fatty acids, protein quality and nitrogen fixation, in addition of markers in genes for resistance and yield. Methods include specific oligonucleotides and amplification cycles of targeted SSR markers. The marker set has been intended for red clover breeding.

Variety Pramedi
Variety Pramedi (TPM14855) was bred out by interspecific crosses between tetraploid red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) cv. Tatra (2n=4x=28) and zig-zag clover (Trifolium medium L.) (2n=8x=64). It can be recommended as a forage crop on arable land in pure stands or in mixtures with grasses either for direct cattle feeding or for conservation by silage making. Pramedi is also possible to use as a component of grass clover mixtures for long term meadows.
